You can allow your press-ons to naturally loosen over time, or follow the steps below for a safe, non-damaging removal that preserves both your nails and your Leonies.
1. OIL THE AREA
Apply cuticle oil — or any nourishing oil — around the edges of each nail to help break down the bond.
2. PREPARE YOUR SOAK
Fill a bowl with warm water and add a few drops of oil plus a little dish soap. This helps soften the adhesive.
3. SOAK PATIENTLY
Place your fingertips in the mixture for 5–20 minutes, depending on how strong the adhesion is. The nails will begin to lift as they loosen.
4. GENTLY LIFT
Once you notice lifting, gently wiggle the nails. If they’re ready, carefully slide a cuticle pusher underneath and ease them off very slowly — never force it.
5. IF YOU USED STICKY TABS
Peel away any remaining tabs, cleanse your natural nails with an alcohol pad, then return your press-ons to their case.
6. IF YOU USED GLUE
Lightly file away any dried glue on your natural nail, wipe clean with an alcohol pad, and store your press-ons for future wear.
7. AFTERCARE
Finish with cuticle oil and hand cream to keep your nails nourished, hydrated, and healthy.
A NOTE ON ACETONE
Acetone does dissolve glue quickly, but it can also warp or dull your press-ons — making them unsuitable for reuse. If you wish to rewear your Leonies, we recommend avoiding acetone-based removal.
